Artist Statement

I travel to feel excitement, to fall in love, to see what else is possible…

Intense colors are inspired by travels to Cuba, Brazil; at once representations in pigment of the fundamental vibrancy of the human spirit and reflections of the brightness with which these peoples choose to paint their everyday lives.

The circular forms are simultaneously multiple expressions of Source: womb, spirit, the big ‘kaboom’ at the beginning of time that put us all here; and physical maps imprinted in me along my voyages afar--different versions of humanness encountered in my travels.

We can be fully immersed in a place, yet feel our connection to what we have known and loved elsewhere; free in the world and yet grounded in the richness of all we have experienced.  My images sit in front of me as representations of these moments of my life and my deep connection to ‘all there is.’
